On a Mac with a narrow window? Download Ark8 1.7.2 anyway
What happens next
Four steps to your first host.
Download
Signed and notarized macOS build (Apple Silicon + Intel).
Install
Drag Ark8 into your Applications folder.
Sign in with Google or Microsoft.
Before you install
- A Mac with macOS 14 or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel.
- A Google or Microsoft account. Sign-in is required, and your first sign-in needs internet access; after that, Ark8 opens without one.
- Some features need more: your own HashiCorp Vault for Secrets, your own Anthropic API key for Shraga, and kubectl, helm, docker or terraform for the actions that run them.

Ark8 1.7.2
Sign-in looks like Ark8 again. The sign-in screen is back to its original design: the animated network, the large Ark8 icon and "Your infrastructure, under your control." The website's sign-in page now looks the same.
Runbooks
- Run pipeline stays locked while the runbook runs. It shows "Running…" (and "Stopping…" once you stop it), and Dry run and the file's own buttons wait too, so a runbook can't be started twice from the workspace. Schedules, webhooks and other runbooks still follow the runbook's "When it's already running" setting.
- Change Review shows the whole pipeline as a diagram, numbered in the order it runs, with the steps that won't run and why. A Terraform step shows its command and an APPLY or DESTROY warning. Click a step to read exactly what will run.
- A file excluded from runs no longer adds a line under Run pipeline.
Terminals
- Servers whose login shell is fish now connect and work.
- Typing exit after a command failed ends the session instead of opening a second shell.
- The local terminal starts your login shell the way Terminal does, so ~/.zprofile and ~/.zlogin run. With fish or bash you get your own shell; the bundled prompt applies to zsh only.
- SSH terminals read your server's login profile, as plain ssh does.
Settings. Options that did nothing in this version are no longer shown.
Links. Help, sign-in, legal and organization links now go to www.ark8.io.

Older builds are no longer offered for download because they predate security fixes. Install the current release; it keeps itself up to date from then on.
